This master plan seeks to integrate the spirit of the town Rural Area Plan with the realities of a site which has immense natural beauty yet challenging topography. The plan incorporates 55 single-family lots and a commercial node sensitively sited around the operations of a working farm. Incorporating 51 multi-family units, a coffee roaster and cafe, a brewery, farm-to-table restaurant, and 40-key hotel at the commercial node, the intention is to provide food and beverage, retail, and hospitality functions which showcase and support the workings of the farm. Referencing North Carolina rural vernacular architecture, the buildings are sited to create a vibrant, indoor-outdoor district.
